Astraean-English relation controversy[edit]

The Astraean-English controversy is a long-standing linguistic conundrum regarding the existence of the English language, or the Astraean language as it is known within the Stellar Concordat, on a world 4.37 light-years from Earth. Ever since first contact between the Concordat and the United Nations in 1974, there has been persistent confusion as to why the Astraeans spoke English, or variants of English, as a species for centuries prior to their discovery and diplomatic contact with humanity.
