Shortcut for use within templates

If you are using this inside a "Year in Region Name" template, for example {{Year in Kerala}}, and if all of your "YYYY in Region Name" articles start with the year value, you can use this code in your template to avoid having to add a year value to each transclusion of the template:

|year      = <noinclude>{{#time:Y}}</noinclude><includeonly>{{first word|{{PAGENAME}}}}</includeonly>

Within a given article, you can then simply use the name of that region's template: {{Year in Region Name}}.
