Use only the parameters applicable to the institution. All numeric parameters will be automatically formatted, so should be formatted without any digit grouping punctuation (that is, a period or comma).

- required: the name of the division
- native_name
- required: the name of the division in the native language of the institution
- image
- optional: an image depicting the division; exclude the File or Image components, using the form Example.jpg instead of [[File:Example.jpg|250px]]
- image_size
- optional: the display size of the image, in pixels
- image_alt
- optional: if image_name is supplied, please include a descriptive alt text to comply with Wikipedia's accessibility guideline for images
- caption
- optional: a description of the image
- motto
- optional: the motto of the division
- motto_lang
- optional: language in which motto is specified, if not in English
- motto_eng
- optional: English language translation of motto
- former_names
- optional: a list of former names for the division
- established
- required: the date on which the division was established, using {{Start date}}
- closed
- optional: the date on which the division was closed, using {{End date}}

- optional: the symbol of the division (for example, the pink tie of the University of Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics)

Location parameters Edit
Only one of the subnational parameters canton, prefecture, province, or state should be used, and only that which reflects the first-order subnational jurisdiction (that is, the administrative divisions into which the nation is split).

- required: the city or town in which the division is located
- canton
- optional: the canton in which the division is located (such as a Canton of Switzerland)
- prefecture
- optional: the prefecture in which the division is located (such as a Prefecture of Japan)
- province
- optional: the province in which the division is located (such as a Canadian province)
- region
- optional: the region in which the division is located (such as a Italian region)
- state
- optional: the state in which the division is located (such as a U.S. state)
- country
- optional: the country in which the division is located
- coordinates
- optional: the geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) of the division, using {{coord}}
Administrative position parameters Edit
This infobox is flexible and contains parameters for numerous administrative positions, some of which are listed in titles in academia. Use those for which the division has such an administrative position.

- optional: the number of individuals at the division employed as academic staff (professors, lecturers, etc.)

- optional: the number of students attending a program in the division
- enrollment
- optional: the number of students attending a program in the division (can be used as a variation of "students")
- undergrad
- optional: the number of students attending an undergraduate program in the division
- postgrad
- optional: the number of students attending a postgraduate program in the division
- doctoral
- optional: the number of students attending a doctoral program in the division
- alumni
- optional: the number of students who have graduated from the division
