Macaronesia (French: Macaronesie; Arabic: ماكارونيسيا Mākārūnīsyya), officially the Republic of Macaronesia (French: République Macaronesien; Arabic: الجمهورية الماكارونيسيا al-Jumhūriyya al-Mākārūnīsyya), is a sovereign island country located in the North Atlantic Ocean. Located off the coast of Europe and North Africa, the country of 5.6 million is comprised of four volcanic archipelagos, which contain the four provinces and capital district.
